Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO Authorisation


With Auto Debit or Interbank GIRO, you can choose to settle the monthly payment for your CIMB Credit Card account in full or at the minimum amount due from a designated bank account* of your choice. Simply ensure that sufficient funds are maintained in the account on the payment due date for the Auto Debit arrangement, and 2 business days^ prior to the payment due date for the Interbank GIRO arrangement.

To start enjoying the convenience of Auto Debit or Interbank GIRO, just complete the Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO Authorisation form and mail it back to us for processing.

* The designated bank account refers to your CIMB Current/ Savings account if you are applying for the Auto Debit service or any other bank’s Current/ Savings account if you are applying for the Interbank GIRO service.
^ Payment is debited from your designated Current/ Savings account 2 business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday) before payment due date. This ensures that payment is credited to your CIMB Credit Card account on the payment due date.

How do I know if my application for Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO is successful?

Please allow 3 - 4 weeks for the processing of your application. When approved, it will be reflected in your CIMB Credit Card statement that payment will be made via Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO. In the meantime, please promptly settle your outstanding bills in full to avoid incurring interest and late payment charges. You may also call our 24-hour CIMB Credit Cards Customer Service Hotline at (+65) 6438 1118 to check the status of your application.

Does this mean that payment will be automatically debited from my designated bank account every month thereafter?

Yes, once your credit card statement indicates that Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO is in effect, payment will be automatically debited from your designated bank account. Please ensure that there are sufficient funds in your designated bank account on payment due date for the Auto Debit arrangement and 2 business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday) prior to payment due date for the Interbank GIRO arrangement.

Can I authorise multiple bank accounts for payment?

No, the deductions can only be made from one designated bank account.

Can I make payment for my family/friends’ CIMB Credit Card accounts via Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO from my designated bank account?

Yes, Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO deduction from your designated bank account for the settlement of their CIMB Credit Cards is possible. The application form has to be completed and signed by the authorised bank account holder(s), and the signature(s) must match the records held by your designated bank/financial Institution.

How do I cancel the Auto Debit/Interbank GIRO service so it will not continue to debit funds from my account each month?

You can cancel the service by mailing your written instructions to the following address:
